Kate Joranson, MFA, MLIS
Kate is an artist, meditation teacher, educator, and consultant whose work explores listening and attention as embodied, relational, and creative practices. She focuses on fostering curiosity, analyzing power dynamics, and building genuine connections. As a Qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher, she is deeply committed to collaborative inquiry and liberatory approaches to teaching and learning.

Dr. Rose became curious about meditation through one of her brothers in the mid-2000's. Another brother introduced her to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), sending her
Jon Kabat-Zinn’s book, Full Catastrophe Living. In 2020, Dr. Rose experienced first-
hand, the transformative power of the 8-week MBSR course. On the front lines of healthcare during the Pandemic, she faced a myriad of
thoughts, emotions, and physical challenges. She deepened her
capacity to cultivate inner peace through the practices in MBSR. Dedicated to bringing this awareness to others, she then set out to become an MBSR teacher.
